Comments on The Nobody Threads Part 2
In the last post I elaborated on the nature of the platforms these threads take place on and the dynamics between these platforms and peoples among them. For this post, I will describe more about the threads themselves, their characteristics, structure, common themes, etc.
The first thing is that the threads presume the existence of The Nobody but that this person is relatively unknown or obscure. The second thing is that this person is supposedly up against a foe or series of foes, in particular the "Illuminati" or financial elite, painted as a kind of protagonist against these foes. These are placed against the backdrop of a setting that subscribes to these ideas more than others might, in other words it seems the threads may be designed towards a target audience. I say threads presume the existence of, because I don't make this presumption and it's not part of my overall theory about these. It very well may be a placeholder that many kinds of people can fill, or be open enough for people to believe that it can. Which leads to the third major thing in these threads, the idea of users believing they are The Nobody or harassment against users that if they criticize the threads or site that they must believe they are too good and therefore must believe they are The Nobody. The whole discussion keeps moving in antagonistic fashion towards that concept without it ever being concretely defined with solid evidence. Therefore, it leads to frequent confrontations between users that the moderators either watch and allow or get involved in to make it worse for an individual.
The original post, OP, of a thread is usually made in a way that grabs attention, in an exciting or mysterious way, and might sound pleasant enough at first but the posts very soon devolve into the most vitriolic and can run indefinitely until the thread closes and new ones start, and the process repeats. Users are often prodded for their views and interests, in such a way as to incline them to keep feuding. In particular, I have noticed a strong religious agenda among some posters, which is something worth making a separate post for. But to give to a brief description, the context of discussion usually appears in Judeo-Christian terms, especially pertaining to Messianism and the odd belief among thread makers that people see themselves as Messianic. My personal belief is that this is actually a form of religious and psychological warfare, against Christians but also people of other backgrounds. I will be presenting a lot of evidence that is suggestive of this, in the future. The general outcome of the threads is that people engaging in this kind of discussion and argument tend to suffer and be put down, with projections being made against them from moderators who make leading statements and questions.
In short, the threads are designed to distract, deceive, and discredit anyone who visits. The visitor doesn't get the background of the threads, the site, the moderators and administrators and has to face things more or less blindly while the latter sit with information about the visitors, almost like a one way mirror.
It is very important to take that away from moderators and administrators, and that is what I am aiming for.
