The Threads' Closures

From the link posted in the previous post, there are a number of important takeaways from the conversations about these threads and how they closed. Since that thread talking about those threads is rather long, going to almost 40 pages in what is remaining in the archive, I will just start with the very fact that the primary nobody threads, which were mega-thread level being at thousands of pages each, were closed in what appears to be the Summer of 2014.

They appear to have been hastily done so, and there doesn't appear to be a clarification as to why, although it seems it has to do with detailed inquiry into the threads or some liability concerns or both. Here are some screenshots to supplement.

Nevermind the people mentioned and who are speaking for the moment, except for the reference to LOP which is lunaticpost, which was mentioned in a previous post. This site had a similar format to GLP and mostly consisted of former GLP members who made an exodus including from what was called some sort of "Superbowl" mass ban. It appears there then had been a rift and competition between the sites, although they had each been hosting these threads including mega-threads. While the megathreads were locked to replies, smaller threads seem to continue even after these thread locks, although LOP may have had a more stringent policy in banning them than GLP did. So that these threads continued in some form is where the expose continues.
