What Are We Looking At?

 This forum had run for about a year and during 2015 and suddenly closed around Christmas Eve or Day under unknown circumstances but potentially due to many controversial rumors. Some said it had something to do with the threads mentioned, which became heated, but others claimed with some unconfirmed evidence of a suicide of a member or poster that may have been pushed or pressured my a site moderator, other say it was a due to a split or dispute between moderators or administrators of both this forum and the parent forum. It is unclear whether or or all of these versions were true, though there was some evidence of each that I have seen. It was also discussed for  a time across the various related forums, such as CTC as seen in the previous post, but also LOP and some splinter forums which were smaller like CTC. One curious element on retrospect were the presence of not only these threads, but threads and post discussing Trump for the upcoming election, some in support of him...

One can see the timestamps from the posts in the linked source that shows those discussions happening in 2014. In 2015, a new development occurred where GLP had a spin-off "sister site" called givemegossip which seemed to be some kind of smaller, feminine version of GLP. GLP which had been known to ban users suddenly and in mass without any seeming reason had at this time started to redirect banned users to GMG. The forum was much smaller than GLP and run by a separate administrator. There were some curiosities about this site, one is that they continued to host nobody threads even after the apparent closures, and second is that they also hosted some pro-Trump threads and posts.  From the link posted in the previous post, there are a number of important takeaways from the conversations about these threads and how they closed. Since that thread talking about those threads is rather long, going to almost 40 pages in what is remaining in the archive, I will just start with the very fact that the primary nobody threads, which were mega-thread level being at thousands of pages each, were closed in what appears to be the Summer of 2014. They appear to have been hastily done so, and there doesn't appear to be a clarification as to why, although it seems it has to do with detailed inquiry into the threads or some liability concerns or both. I am posting a link that is a webarchive record of a forum thread at a site that no longer exists, called conspiracytheorycantina, which was a smaller forum of individuals who had at one point frequented godlikeproductions and lunaticoutpost. The names may sound a little funny, and I don't consider myself a conspiracy theorist, but this was a source that had something similar to what I am trying to do, a thread to discuss nobody threads as a phenomena itself and why it exists.   This is the original post of the forum thread that started phenomenon of Nobody threads. It was located at www.godlikeproductions.com and ran for some thousands of pages, approximately 2600-2700 as I recall. The thread itself ran until 2014 when it was locked and closed to further replies. Up to that point, there had been hundreds of thousands of other related threads. It is unclear how many people had been involved in these threads due to the prolific amount of anonymous posting, as well as the potential for user to employ "sock" accounts on the site. Needless to say, the amount of effort put into the threads speaks to some kind of concerted effort, unlikely to be done by one person. Well upon searching google, this result appears: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/events/operation-google But there was this post in The Nobody threads on the 4chan paranormal board I am curious if the search algorithms will connect the two. The reason being, I am interested to see in what ways ordinary people can come across the threads without directly coming across them, so that the narrative of the threads aren't left to the threads themselves.  I have an unusual story, with even more unusual material to go with it. The main goal of this blog is to examine the latter, while if at all possible to describe the former in as far as the two have intersected. What I will say is that I am not the creator of the latter mentioned content, nor do I endorse it, and I don't think I even like it.
